I wore tennis shoes and braces when I was in Jr. High,

I had sassy dark hair and a twinkle in my eye

When the sun came up in the east I never thought I would fly

Or be on top of the world -  riding silver in the sky.

Sometimes people irritate me with uncertainty, and questions that irk meÖ

I donít want to be afraid - or jump at every sound - like itís an air raid...

And sometimes I want to tell the whole world to calm down, and go back to the day when people didnít talk this way - Ďbout fear and danger everywhere, on the ground and in the air.

And Iím a nice girl from a nice town; itís not my fault the Twin Towers went down; but all this talk is hurting me and my dreams of what I want to be...

For 21 years Iíve flown the skies, Iíve gone to work with sleepy eyes

Iíve heard the fear and even lies,

And it makes me want to cryÖ

But Iím not giving in to fear, even when skies are dark and drear,

For I know my Lord is with me near,

ÖRiding silver in the sky.
