“Drifting Sand” Poem...

“Bring You Flowers” is a new page in the Galaxy Cafe section. This page is dedicated to our troops  & their families, and is meant to honor those who are serving our country. “Bring You Flowers” is a song written and performed by Kristen Scott, a new artist on DesertSnow. The song is about a young woman who lost her husband in the war in Afghanistan, and is now raising her son alone. This song is based on a true story. As we celebrate the holidays, please remember our troops and their families in your prayers and in your gifts,  whatever you are able to do for them.

For God so loved each and every person throughout all ages that he sent his only Son (a Prince) to this world as a homeless man (a Pauper)...that whoever would believe that he really is a Prince and accept his death (as payment for the things they have done wrong),  they would not lose themselves (die) but inherit the true riches (that  will never fade), and live forever with God...John 3:16

“The foxes have their dens, and the birds have their nests, but I, the Messiah (Jesus Christ) do not have a place to lay my head.”   Matthew 8:20

The Galaxy Cafe has “food for the soul,” and includes special features about musicians around the world. As time goes on, more artists will be added. During the holiday season, new articles, videos, and art will be  added. I hope you enjoy these pages. If there is something you would  like to see in this section, especially with regard to our troops and their families, please send us an email at support@desertsnow.org - thanks!

Entonces, no desmayes

English Version of the poem “Sandcastles”:

Sandcastles

There once was a man who lived on a beach
And played among the waves...
He worked on castles in the sand
On sunny breezy days

Tall towers stood upon the shore
With moat and bridge and sandy wall
But with few to see his work he made
Sand castles didn't mean much now - not at all...

But one day from up on the hill
Rising far out of reach
A girl came wandering down to see
Sand castles on the beach

She came out from beneath large leaves
Whose hidden water streams left their place
And trails of water falling down
Met sunlight glistening off her face

She wiped away the watery stream
And pushed back her flowing hair
And looked down upon the sand
For a closer view at what was there

She laughed and danced around the walls
Of castles built in the sand
Her eyes and smile made bright the day
And she reached out with her hand

She exclaimed with sheer delight
"Are these your castles in the sand,
Can I see more built by your hands?"
And surprised and happy stood up the man
Who built the castles in the sand...
Yes I will - for you until - you no longer come this way.

And day after day he worked and built
More creations and castles in the sand
And every day the girl came down
To see the walls and moat and bridge
He built with his own hands...

But one day she didn't come down
He watched and listened and waited for a sound
He looked beneath the leaves so green
He looked on the hill and all around
- But the girl could not be found...

He walked among the palms and green
Upon the hill where she was last seen
And he finally found her among the branches and leaves
And he asked her where she had been

She cried and said that she had been left
Alone and no one understood
She tried to tell them what she meant
But words fell down and never could
Make a bridge or a moat or a wall that stood
To make them see, no they never could -
Understand...

And maybe words won't work to build a bridge
That sand can make every day
On the beach in every way
To make them understand what I say...
And make them listen, somehow, some way...
Will they ever listen to my words, or what I say?

The man who played among the waves
Took her on a walk that day
And dried her tears and took her fears
And threw them into the sea...

"My castles are made of sand so delicate and fragile,
The waves wash and carry them away
And I need to build new ones each day
Because the walls and moat and bridges
All go away..."

"But my words can heal and seal and bandage the hurts,
My words can find and lead and teach
Your words can do the same...
In your house, or on a hill, or on a beach
If you have wisdom in your heart
If you look into the sky
And see the stars that last forever
And have faith in not giving up, no, never -
And if you can see the glory that will ever
Give joy that is beyond the reach of the waves of time...
So do not lose heart
And give up on telling your story
Your voice is important
Your voice will be heard -
And someday they won't think it to be absurd
When the glory and wisdom of God
They hear in your words, and see in your life..."

The girl looked up into the heavens, and saw the stars, and knew that the waves could never wash them away...like castles in the sand. And now she wanted her words to be the words of God, spoken and standing like an unmovable rock on the shore...
