“Drifting Sand” Poem...

“Bring You Flowers” is a new page in the Galaxy Cafe section. This page is dedicated to our troops  & their families, and is meant to honor those who are serving our country. “Bring You Flowers” is a song written and performed by Kristen Scott, a new artist on DesertSnow. The song is about a young woman who lost her husband in the war in Afghanistan, and is now raising her son alone. This song is based on a true story. As we celebrate the holidays, please remember our troops and their families in your prayers and in your gifts,  whatever you are able to do for them.

For God so loved each and every person throughout all ages that he sent his only Son (a Prince) to this world as a homeless man (a Pauper)...that whoever would believe that he really is a Prince and accept his death (as payment for the things they have done wrong),  they would not lose themselves (die) but inherit the true riches (that  will never fade), and live forever with God...John 3:16“The foxes have their dens, and the birds have their nests, but I, the Messiah (Jesus Christ) do not have a place to lay my head.”   Matthew 8:20

The Galaxy Cafe has “food for the soul,” and includes special features about musicians around the world. As time goes on, more artists will be added. During the holiday season, new articles, videos, and art will be  added. I hope you enjoy these pages. If there is something you would  like to see in this section, especially with regard to our troops and their families, please send us an email at - thanks!

You can ask me about them – my email address is compliant777@yahoo.comthe musical score is free (no charge). The choir parts are played by instruments in this recording.

This is an international album, with songs being sung by artists from Canada, the UK, the USA, Sweden, and Australia. Everything on this album is meant to soothe your mind, encourage you, and give you a beautiful experience with instrumentals, vocal music, and spoken word. Full Moon Lullaby was written for people who become very ill before and during the time of a full moon. There are quite a number of people who are adversely affected by a full moon.

I also created the album artwork. The light emanating from the teapot and cups, the warmth of the tea (or coffee) itself, the pillow with the little girl’s head lying on it, the piano, and the rainbow are all intended to give a sense of security and love even though a major storm surrounds the house. The artwork was very difficult for me, and I spent many hours on the artwork until I achieved the effect of warmth, security, and love in the midst of a storm. All these things remind me of Jesus Christ, who is my pillow for the storm, a blanket, a piano that provides music, and warm coffee or tea on a cold rainy night. The storm doesn’t affect his ability to keep and care for his children.

All of these songs and creations are intended to bring people close to God and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Prince of Peace, starting with your heart. Cry out to him, and ask him for help. He wants to be your best friend. He has been my best friend since I was very young. I was not raised in a Christian home. My Mother became very sick and almost died, but the Lord healed her. She prayed, “Dear Lord Jesus, come into my life, forgive me of what I have done wrong, and be my friend forever.” Jesus Christ turned our lives completely around. Life is hard – but Jesus said, “Do not let your heart be troubled, nor be afraid.” Jesus Christ himself is my pillow for the storm. He has been there for me over and over, all my life. He has answered countless prayers for me, even the tiniest requests.

DVD - There are 3 videos on the DVD.

  • 1. Desert Snow – Footage from the Arizona desert (30 miles east of Phoenix) of a snowstorm with music I wrote.
  • 2. Piano Black – A poem, music, and animation I created as I dealt personally with the struggles and sorrows of the world, especially those who are homeless.
  • 3. The 1,000 Year Café – A movie I made (53 minutes long) about a family’s struggles and the loss of a little girl’s grandfather.
  • Don’t be fooled by the seemingly innocent tale of two sisters in the 1,000 Year Café (53 minutes). One of my goals in this video was to show the spiritual battles that go on behind the scenes in family struggles. My other goal was to explain death and going to heaven to children. The movie is also meant to show the power of prayer, and that prayer moves the hand of God. The movie is rated “G,” for all audiences, but some parents might feel that the message of the movie is too strong for children. I suggest that parents watch the movie first and see what you think. A young girl of about 10 years old took the movie home. When she came to our house again she said, “I watched the movie 13 times.”  I was told by several people that the movie brings the subject of death down to a level where children can deal with it, and I have found that children are drawn to its message.

The animations in the 1,000 Year Café were done on an Amiga computer using D Paint IV, which was the first animation software I ever used. This was before Apple or IBM PC computers ever had animation software. I used an old Sony analog editing system and S-VHS camcorders to record the footage. I did all the editing and directing myself, and I wrote all the music. The project took over 2 years to finish. My daughter Samantha did most of the narration when she was only 7 years old. There are several places in the movie where slow-motion effects are used. The interesting thing is that I had no way to do this except by finding a “sweet spot” on the editing deck and manually slowing it down. All of the effects (such as the lightning and scanning over the earth) were done by mixing footage from NASA and other sources (such as a close up of a high voltage arc inside of a glass flask) on tape and then mixing the images all together. I used a harmonizer box (not software) to achieve the effects on the voices of the angels.

After I filmed the snowstorm on the Arizona desert (30 miles east of Phoenix), I started a web site – – which is meant to encourage people; especially those who have lost a loved one. This 2-disk set is intended to be a companion work with the content on my web site.

My brother-in-law took his own life when he was only 22 years old. No one had any idea that he would do such a thing. I hope and pray that my music, poetry, stories, and videos on this album will keep people safe, encouraged, strengthened, and lifted up instead of giving up. If you have never asked Jesus Christ to come into your life, it is a simple prayer that brings what you need in a dry and weary land where there isn’t any water.

“Dear Lord Jesus, come into my life, please forgive me of what I have done wrong, and help me to forgive those who have hurt me. I leave all my cares, worries, and bitter experiences at the cross, where you died to pay for all the wrongs and hurts of the world. I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.”

When you pray that prayer, it sets everything straight with God, but hurts can take a whole lifetime to deal with. They may never be resolved in this life. God gave us the Bible for guidance and instruction in how to deal with the difficulties of life. He also gave us the Holy Spirit as a friend who walks along side us and gives us encouragement, strength, and wisdom to face each day. If you seek him every day with all your heart in sincere faith, he will always be faithful to meet you right where you are at and help you. If you make friends with other Christians, and if you search for a good church that truly cares about people and teaches the word of God, you will find a way when there seems to be no way to go on. There isn’t any such thing as a perfect church, because there aren’t any perfect people. But God uses ordinary people to bring about extraordinary change.  Seek out older and wiser people who can share their experiences with you – ask them for wisdom and guidance. Many of these older people have been through world wars, the Depression, the loss of a child or spouse or other family member. Don’t run away from your problems – run to a refuge from the storm.

The last track on this album is the “Pop-N-Jay Theme” from Glass Dawn – the novel I wrote and the animation by the same title. I know a lot of people can identify with PopNJay, a cyborg from the planet Teralon. PopNJay is a symbol of so many people that feel like misfits. His hands and feet are not like others, and so from a human perspective he has a disability. But in the end of the story of Glass Dawn, his disability is what saves the Earth from being destroyed. I want everyone to know that if they feel like a misfit, God has a purpose for them, and they were born with a purpose – God’s purpose.

Please read & memorize these verses – they will give you strong encouragement!

“Even to your old age I will be the same, and even to your graying years I will carry you. I have made you, and I will carry you. I will carry you, and I will deliver you.” Isaiah 46:4

“Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. I am doing something new! Will you not be aware of it?” Isaiah 43:18-19

“I satisfy the weary ones and refresh everyone who languishes.”  Jeremiah 31:25

“I know the plans I have for you; plans for good, and not bad – plans to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

“Call to me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”  Jeremiah 33:3

“You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

“In repentance and rest you will be saved, in quietness and trust is your strength.” Isaiah 30:15

“He will be the stability of your times, a wealth of salvation, wisdom and knowledge; the reverence of the Lord is the key to this treasure.”  Isaiah 33:6

Thank you for purchasing this 2-disk set, and may God bless you in every way as you take it all in!

    CD Song Lyrics

Track 1 – A Pillow for the Storm

    A blanket

    For a cold night

    A voice

    That softly sings

    A prayer

    That will bring me

    A pillow for the storm

I want to lay my head down

On a pillow for the storm

    On a pillow

    For the storm

I will find the rest I need

    As my Savior

    Softly sings

    A gentle song to me

    Jesus is my shelter

    From the raging storms outside

He is my bread for the morning

He is my Light for my way

He is the Rest when I am weary

He is my strength for each day

    A blanket

    For a cold night

    A voice

    That softly sings

    A prayer

    That will bring me

    A pillow for the storm

I want to lay my head down

On a pillow for the storm

    On a pillow

    For the storm

I will find the rest I need

    As my Savior

    Softly sings

    A gentle song to me

    Jesus is my shelter

    From the raging storms outside

    Track 3 – Living Water

    The living water

    When the river of dreams

    Has run dry

    The living water

    Is flowing

    When hopes

    Have all run dry

    When life

    Has made you cry

    It flows

    And heals your soul...your soul

    Deeper and wider

    It's flowing

    Nurturing the tree of life

    Whose leaves

    Are for healing

    A broken heart...

    A broken heart...

    And your tears

    Will lead you

    To the throne of Majesty

    Where caring

    And kindness

    Make your sorrow fly away

    Let the living water

    Take away your sorrow

And the streams will lead you

    To your heavenly Father

    Let the living water

Find the pain that hurts you

And the streams will lead you

    To a place refreshing...

    Track 8 – Secrets

If your life was a novel

    Would there be parts

    You wouldn’t want me

    To read

If your life was a movie

    Would there be parts

You wouldn’t want me to see

If I knew -  the good and the bad

All of you – would you be sad?If I knew – the good and the bad

All of you – would you be glad?

If I knew – the secrets you hide

All of you – would you have cried?

If I knew – the secrets you hide

All of you – would you have lied?

I see you, and I love you

    I know you – and I care!

    Nothing about you

    Will leave me in despair

    (Repeat – adding background vocals)

    Background vocals:

I know your secrets and I love you

    Just the way you are

    I know you’re hurting

And together we can heal your scars

    Repeat Verse

    Go to your Father

    Who sees in secret

    Pray to your Father

    Who knows your secrets

    Repeat Verse

    & add interlude lyrics

    (Melody & 2 counter – melodies)

    I know your secrets

And I love you – just the way you are!

    Randy Stahla – 2014

    Track 6 – Hiding Place

    When you pray

    Go in secret

    To your Father

    Who sees in secret

    And He will reward you

    In front of everyone

    And He will reward you

    In front of everyone

    To your Father

    Go in secret

    To your Father

    Who sees in secret

    He knows what you need

    Before you ask him

    When you pray

    Go into your room

    When you pray

    Close the door

    When you pray

    Go in secret

    When you pray

    To the Lord

    Randy Stahla 2014

    Track 10 – How Precious

    How precious are the hands,

That children held when He walked by,

    How precious is the heart,

That gave the truth and told no lies.

    How precious are the words,

That lead to life that never dies,

    How precious is the gift,

To everyone that to Him cries.

When evil was our calling card,

And from your life forever barred,

We had no home or place to go...

    How precious are the hands,

That took the nails of destiny,

    How precious is the heart,

That broke like bread for you and me.

    How precious are the words,

    That finished death on Calvary,

    How precious is the gift,

    That gives us life eternally.

When evil was our calling card,

And from your life forever barred,

You took our death into the grave,

And rose again for us to save...

    Track 12 – A Beautiful Mind

Whatever is true, whatever is right

    Whatever shows honor

    In everyone’s sight

If you would form a beautiful mind

    Think upon these things…

    Think upon these things…

    (Repeat 3 times)

Whatever you see, whatever you hear

    What you may follow

    And bring to you near

    Don’t listen to them

    If they bring you down

    Don’t listen to them

    If they bring you down

Don’t let them into your mind or your thoughts

    (Repeat twice)

Whatever is pure, whatever is good

    Whatever is lovely, whatever withstood

    The trials of life

    What survived the lies

    Think upon these things…

A beautiful mind is like a shield

    To keep you safe on

    The battlefield

When voices assail, you will prevail…

    Think upon these things…

    (Repeat twice)

    (Spoken parts):

You must resist the voices that say

    That “You’re no good!”

    That ruin your day

    Whatever gives hope

    Whatever brings joy

    Think upon these things

    (Repeat – by robot voice)

Whatever you see, whatever you hear

    Whatever you follow

    And bring to you near

    Don’t welcome the voice

    That brings you down

    Don’t think upon these things

Whatever gives hope, whatever brings joy

    Think upon these things

    Randy Stahla – 2014

    Based upon Philippians 4:8

    Track 14 - Anointed

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me

Because the Lord has anointed me

To bring good news to the poor

And to bind up the broken heart

And to revive the hope that has died

    To proclaim liberty to captives

    And freedom to prisoners

    To proclaim liberty to captives

And recovery of sight to the blind

To announce the favor of the Lord

To announce the favor of the Lord

    Repeat Verse

As the Father has sent me

    So I send you

    So I send you…

    Randy Stahla - 2014

Based on Luke 4:14-20 where Jesus was

Reading from Isaiah 61:1-3 in the

Synagogue; also based upon John 20:21

    Track 16 – Carry On

If today the world came to an end

If the sun its rays didn’t send

If the moon stopped shining in the night

If events came about to cause you fright

    I would need you

    To tell me

    I did alright

    I would need you

    To say to me

    “Carry on…”

    Carry on, Carry on

    Even when you’re discouraged

    Carry on

    Hold on, Hold on

    He will never leave you

    Hold on

    Life is hard

On your heart and your soul

    Roads are long

    On the roll

    To your goal

I need you to encourage me

    Along the way

I need you to cheer me

    Every day

    Leave behind the lies

    And the thoughts

    That keep you down

    Give to me a smile

    And say,

    “Carry on…”

    Key change

Carry on, Carry on, Carry on

    Randy Stahla 2014

    Track 19 – Pop-N-Jay Theme

(Words are about PopNjay, a cyborg,

    On the planet of Teralon;

    From the “Glass Dawn” story

    & animation by Randy Stahla)

    Part 1

    I’ve been called a “loser,”

    A “misfit,”

    I don’t really have a home

    And my hands are funny

    I can’t touch you

And my feet are funny too

    I can’t do –

    Anything like others

    No I can’t –

    I can’t do the things I want

    Or go walking

    They say I’m a misfit

    With no friends

I’m not sure where I belong

    Here on Teralon

    The planet that I’m from

    Out in space

    Part 2

    There once was a cyborg

His name was Pop – N – Jay

Everyone told him to stay away

    Pop – N – Jay

    When your day

    Finds you

    You’ll be on your way!

You never could tell just when

    At anytime night or day

    The wires would short out

    On Pop-N-Jay

    Part 3 (PopNjay’s point-of-view)

I am learning every single day

    I can do most anything

I am trying every single way

    I can think creatively

When I fall I will not give up

When I fall I stand up

When I fall I keep on going

I won’t give up on life

When I’m down it’s not for long

I just get up - again

I am trying every single day

    To keep doing my best

I am trying every single way

    To keep doing my best…

    Dusty Roads

This poem is not on the CD. I added this only to this page.

    Ever since you were little,

I was there while you slept,

And I watched over you as the sun rose,

    Above  the horizon.

And I made a decision a long time ago,

    When my feet were heavy,

    And the road was dusty,

    To go to Jerusalem.

My back hurt in the morning,

When I woke up from sleeping on the ground,

    And my eyes were tired,

As people started coming to see me,

    From all around…almost every day.

    But I made a decision,

    Every step of the way,

    To go to Jerusalem -

For the world, for those that would love me,

For those who would never, ever love me.

    I went for them -

    And I went for you.

Oh I know all about you…

    Since you were little;

I’ve made sure that you were taken care of.

    And when you were unaware,

When you worried, I was there,

Always doing more for you than you realized.

And before you were born I made a decision,

    In the garden,

    During the trial,

    In front of Pilate,

On the way up the hill to Calvary,

Each step, every breath, every moment,

    I made a decision…

To give my life for you.

I know you’ve been troubled at times,

And lonely, afraid, and discouraged sometimes.

But if you never give your heart to me,

    Or give anything to me,

I want you to know that I made my decision,

    Gave my word,

    Kept my promises,

And chose to risk everything for you.

When you woke up this morning,

    I was there.

And I made my decision long ago,

…I will always be there for you.

I know you don’t always agree with me.

I know sometimes I make you angry,

    And  confused.

But I want to be your Lord and your friend.

I bought you with my own life.

…Not so I could hurt you or desert you,

    But so that someday,

When the dusty roads and the tears are all gone,

    We can be together forever…
