“Drifting Sand” Poem...

“Bring You Flowers” is a new page in the Galaxy Cafe section. This page is dedicated to our troops  & their families, and is meant to honor those who are serving our country. “Bring You Flowers” is a song written and performed by Kristen Scott, a new artist on DesertSnow. The song is about a young woman who lost her husband in the war in Afghanistan, and is now raising her son alone. This song is based on a true story. As we celebrate the holidays, please remember our troops and their families in your prayers and in your gifts,  whatever you are able to do for them.

For God so loved each and every person throughout all ages that he sent his only Son (a Prince) to this world as a homeless man (a Pauper)...that whoever would believe that he really is a Prince and accept his death (as payment for the things they have done wrong),  they would not lose themselves (die) but inherit the true riches (that  will never fade), and live forever with God...John 3:16

“The foxes have their dens, and the birds have their nests, but I, the Messiah (Jesus Christ) do not have a place to lay my head.”   Matthew 8:20

The Galaxy Cafe has “food for the soul,” and includes special features about musicians around the world. As time goes on, more artists will be added. During the holiday season, new articles, videos, and art will be  added. I hope you enjoy these pages. If there is something you would  like to see in this section, especially with regard to our troops and their families, please send us an email at support@desertsnow.org - thanks!

“Bring You Flowers” is a song written by Kristen Scott, a musician and singer from North Carolina. This song was inspired by a true story of a woman who lost her husband in the war in Afghanistan, and has been left alone to care for her young son. The song talks about how hard it is to see the image of her husband in her little boy’s face, and that she doesn’t want to take her wedding ring off and be single again. And with the added responsibility of taking care of a little one with no one else to help provide, it becomes a large burden for one person to carry.

About Kristen Scott:

I was born in Texas, and raised in North Carolina. Every summer my Mom packed my three siblings and I into the car and drove. On the trips to California, Maine, Ohio, Michigan, and South Dakota we listened to  Elvis, The Judds, Three Dog Night and Bread. I enjoyed singing, but was not musically inclined until I was 18, when I taught myself how to play the guitar. I took some of the poems that I had written, and put music to them. Two years later when I studied abroad in Italy, a friend took me to a recording studio for the first time. When I returned home to North Carolina, I recorded seven songs in Lenoir, NC with Lance Main.  About a year later, I moved to Wilmington, NC, and played at multiple  venues on the coast. I love my country, I love my God, and I love the Catholic Church. Through my songs I desire to bring hope to others, especially those that have served to protect our country and our freedom.

BRING YOU FLOWERS Kristen Scott

Baby- I’ve been thinking about you lately

 I’ve been tossing and turning

 Late into the night

 I rise

 With the sunshine

And I kneel down

And pray with all my might

And I know - you’d want me to be free...

But I can’t seem to make myself take off my ring...

 I hear our little boy

Down the hall

Waiting for Mama to come and pick him up

And even though

I see you every day in his eyes

I still miss you - my soldier that I lost...

And to this day

I have no regrets

I loved you

With all that I am

And if I had to choose

I’d still meet you

And love you

And lose you again...

We go walking and bring you flowers

And sometimes... I dont want to leave...

I watch our little boy run around

And I smile

But I wish that you were here with me

And I know

You’d want me to be free...

But I can’t seem to make myself take off my ring...

And to this day I have no regrets

I loved you with all that I am...

And if I had to choose

I’d still meet you

And love you

And lose you again...

One day they’ll go walking

And bring us flowers

And I -

I wont have to leave

They can lay me into the ground right next to you

And I’ll rest in peace

Rest in peace

Rest in peace...

“This is what the Lord says: ‘Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.’”

Jeremiah 6:16

“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”

Isaiah 46:4

“Do not be afraid; you will not suffer shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood. For your Maker is your husband - the Lord Almighty is his name - the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth. The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit - a wife who married young, only to be rejected, says your God.”

Isaiah 54:4-6

“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.”

Isaiah 54:10

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior...”

Isaiah 43:1b-3a
